The extraordinary situation experienced in recent months with the Covid-19 pandemic served the Frederic Mistral-Tècnic Eulàlia school and Foto Colectania to reinvent a project that barely had to start when the confinement was decreed.
The students of 6º of Primary have been invited to photograph and to reflect on this historical moment, and the result is a photographic work titled "Time that we lived" that, in three photobooks, will be exposed in the Library of Foto Colectania .
At the beginning of the second quarter of the 2019-2020 school year, the Frederic Mistral-Tècnic Eulàlia school and the Foto Colectania Foundation decided to carry out a joint photography project to make the pandemic of the Covid-19 visible from the prism of 6th grade students and confinement.
Reflection on the photographic language and the concept of photobook
The project, in which the school's 6th grade students participated, had to start with a visit to the Foto Colectania Foundation, just after returning from the Easter holidays and, based on specific material prepared for this entity, start with them a reflection on the photographic language and the concept of Photobook.
The situation of confinement in which we found ourselves, however, opened the doors to work with the students in a somewhat different way and invite them to speak, through photography, about what they have felt, lived, remembered, lost and won during this time that, without a doubt, has left a strong mark in history and throughout the world.
Time we live
The result is the work "Temps que vivim", three digital photobooks (a leaflet) with photographic reflections by 6th grade students on the historical moment lived. If all goes well, the work will be published on paper, most likely next September, and will be exhibited in the Foto Colecania Library.
